Our 9" x 12" mat is perfectly suited for use as a display mat for your favorite EDC gear. The soft leather will help protect the underlying surface from scratches. The "rugged and distressed" cowhide top is bonded and stitched to a ridged 10oz cowhide backing.

The top layer of leather used in these mats is different than our usual leather in that it is infused with waxes and oils. This means that the leather has excellent water repellent properties but it will show scuffing and scratching with use as it is slightly softer than our usual vegetable tanned leathers. Don't worry though, as a little heat and friction from your hand will allow most scuffs and minor scrapes to blend back in.

If you admire nature's imperfections, this mat will please you. On the other hand, you prefer a uniform and consistent finish you may want to reconsider purchasing this item.
